The State District Museum of Nature and Man (until 7.05.1998 the Khanty-Mansiysk District Museum of Local History) was founded on July 9, 1932 by the Resolution of the Presidium of the Ural Executive Committee. It is the oldest museum in the district. On November 4, 1936, the museum was opened to the public for the first time.
